  • I don't think the market action today was that bad. Keeping my longs and beta. The mid-term election year correction and summer slide may be here, but hopefully the major damage is done.  Maybe trending now.  Maybe folks are just tired of the Fed contradicting itself from day today.  I don't think Bernanke really thinks there are big inflation concerns out there at this point.

  • Yes, we have to wait until Thursday for the first game of the NBA Finals.  Miami or Dallas?  I'm pulling for Miami.  Shaq.  Wade.  Riley.
  • Barry says Ben Steps Up over at The Big Picture.  The options facing the Fed are overtightening and causing a recession, or under tightening and letting inflation getting away from them. IMO, the latter is the far worse option, and the new noise from the Fed is consistent with that...  Break out the Whip Inflation Now buttons.  But with the core rate just over 2%, hard to imagine why.

  • Jordan Kahn on Inflation - Fighting Yesterday's BattleI think that inflation has likely already peaked, so these fears are missplaced. This should become apparent as the year progresses, and should boost stocks at some point as well.
