Gas Prices!

* In the email, was this photo of gas prices. I thought it was funny.

* The first full day of college football watching yesterday, complete with beer drinking, junk-food eating, and heartburn. Not quite as bad as the heartburn Oklahoma is feeling after losing to TCU, though.

* Chief Justice Rehnquist passed away. Peace to him and to his friends and family.

* Barron's expects the sP500 to rise 6.5% to year end. I think more, but we'll see...

* A lot of money is going to be spent on the recovery from Hurricane Katrina and down in the Gulf states. That will cause an economic boom down there.

* All heck will break lose on Rehnquist's replacement as Chief Justice, and on the replacement on the Supreme Court.

* The movie Troy was okay. Watchable. I kind of like the big epics anyways. I also saw The Count of Monte Cristo, which was mediocre but okay.

* Did you hear hip-hopper Kayne West blast President Bush on the TV benefit show? Me neither. I was like, "Who?" Link. NBC comments?

"It would be most unfortunate," the statement continued, "if the efforts of the artists who participated tonight and the generosity of millions of Americans who are helping those in need are overshadowed by one person's opinion."

* Red Cross (and others) told to stay out of New Orleans.
