After losing his propositions to reform state government, and unable to deal with runaway state spending, CA Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is calling for a huge bond measure. Numbers like "$50 Billion" are being floated around. And whenever Arnold is asked about specific spending items, he says that they should be included.
Nobody wants their taxes hiked. Nobody wants their benefits cut. The state is in complete gridlock, and structural deficits are getting worse year after year.
The only conclusion one can reach is that Arnold hasn't been able to deal with any of the issues he ran on in 2003, and is punting the issue to the next generation of taxpayers.
